About

I'm Arezoo Aguiar, a communication studies graduate from Concordia University — where I graduated with distinction — with a deep love for stories told on screen and on the page. I grew up in Iran and moved to Canada at 24, and living between two worlds made me acutely aware of the stories that don't get told — the voices that exist just outside the frame.

That's what drives my work. Being Iranian taught me that storytelling isn't just an art form — it's how people survive, remember, and make themselves heard. I want to be the kind of filmmaker and writer who goes looking for those untold stories and brings them to the surface with honesty and care.

My work lives at the intersection of filmmaking and writing. I've made short films, studied screenwriting, and I'm always in the middle of chasing the next idea. I work in English and Farsi, and I bring a cross-cultural perspective to everything I make.

Right now I'm based on São Miguel Island in the Azores, and my portfolio is growing. If you're hiring or looking for a creative collaborator in film or writing, I'd love to hear from you.
